Directing Maggie Smith in Richard III

About

I am a British film and television director. I studied sculpture at the Central School of Art before attending the Royal College of Art Film School. I directed my first networked TV documentary, “The Most Beautiful Hotel in the World” while still at film school at twenty-one. I then spent three years working for the BBC producing and directing short films for the science show, “Tomorrow’s World”. In 1970 I moved into advertising, where I directed over six hundred commercials during the next twenty years. During that time I alternated between directing major films in the US and the UK, with television dramas for HBO and the BBC.

I have won a fair few international awards for my directing work including a technical Oscar for development of the first remote camera head that is now an industry standard throughout the world.

Yes, it was ten years ago, but I look pretty much the same with a few more wrinkles!
